Organizational Justice and Work Engagement among Staff Nurses

Abstract
Introduction: Application of fairness or justice is one of the main principle
issues for shaping positive behaviors and attitudes of employees toward their
organization and increases their engagement to their work. Aim : this study
aimed to investigate the relationship between perceived organizational
justice and work engagement among staff nurses. Design: correlational
design was used. Setting: this study was conducted at Ain Shams university
hospitals. Subjects: 243 staff nurses were included in the study. Tools of
data collection: Organizational Justice Scale and Utrecht Work
Engagement Scale were used to collect data for this study. Results: more
than half of staff nurses had moderate perception level regarding
organizational justice and its dimensions, also majority of staff nurses had
high level of total work engagement. Conclusion: There was statistically
significant positive correlation between staff nurses perception regarding
organizational justice and work engagement .Recommendations:
organizations have to map out strategies for enhancing organizational
justice and create inspirational work environment
