Subject: A purposive sample involved forty eight nurses, employed in the previously mentioned settings. Tools: Tools of data collection were: A structured questionnaire format and an observational checklist to assess nurses’ knowledge and performance toward care of children with nephrotic syndrome respectively. According to assessment of actual nurses’ education needs, a self-learning module about care of children with nephrotic syndrome was developed and disseminated. Results: the mean age of studied nurses was 31.04 ± 8.6 years and one quarter of them held bachelor and attained previous program about nephroric syndrome. More than three quarters of studied nurses had unsatisfactory total knowledge regarding care of children with nephrotic syndrome pre dissemination of module compared to most of them had satisfactory total knowledge post module dissemination with statistically significant differences. As well, nurses’ performance was statistically improved post module dissemination. Conclusion: It can be concluded that, the self-learning module was effective in improving nurses’ performance regarding care of children with nephrotic syndrome. Recommendations: Self-learning module which was developed according to actual needs' assessment of nurses should be available for all nurses who provide care for children with nephrotic syndrome for sustainability.
