Menopausal Women's Concept and Satisfactionafter utilizing of Acupressure

Abstract
Aim of study wasto evaluate menopausal women's concept and satisfaction regarding acupressure as self care measure for relieving their hot flashes. An intervention study designed was utilized. The study conductedat gynecological clinics of Ain Shams Maternity University Hospital. A simple random sample technique was used to recruit one hundred menopausal women, those women were divided into two equal group (study and control).Data were collected through two tools (a structured interviewing questionnaire sheet, and effect of acupressure technique on daily living activities sheet). The result of studyrevealedthat none of the study group have knowledge regarding acupressure before intervention compared to 90.0% after intervention. Moreover, 84.% of women in the study group are satisfied with acupressure as self care for reliving their hot flash. The study concluded that most of menopausal women in the intervention group are satisfied with acupressure as self care measure in reliving their hot flash severity and frequency. So the researcher recommended applying the developed self care guideline regarding acupressure technique by gynecological nurse to all premenopausal, menopausal and post menopausal women.
