Abstract
This work aims at the design and implementation of a 2.14GHz 24dBm class-A radio frequency (RF) power amplifier (P A). Efficiency improvement is then achieved through dynamical control of its constant supply voltage through a DC-DC converter. Control voltage of the DC-DC converter is obtained by closing the loop through sampling the power of the P A output signal using directional coupler and RF power detector. Power response of the power amplifier with and without the dynamic supply is compared as well as other amplifier parameters.
